100 Days of Action one Habit at a Time
Spring is here. Writing from the foothills of the Los Padres Mountains, I’m surrounded by the vibrant greenery that’s emerging all around. This time marks the end of winter fallow—when the earth emerges recharged and prepares for the burst of growth that comes with warmer, brighter days.
From a runner’s perspective, the spring season is critical. It’s when I begin building the base of training – building endurance, establishing consistency, and setting small, manageable milestones. These early steps in spring are what lead to the real race breakthroughs in summer and fall. It’s in these quieter, seemingly uneventful moments that we prepare ourselves for the performance ahead.
In his wonderful novel, Hannah Coulter, Wendell Berry writes what we all understand to be true but forget in the darkness of winter:
You think winter will never end, and then, when you don’t expect it, when you have almost forgotten it, warmth comes and a different light.
What about you? After a slower-paced winter, what are you setting up for this spring?
April 1st marks the turning of the page to a new chapter: the 2nd quarter of the year, and the official arrival of spring. Let this season be one of positive energy, fueled by your passions and vision.
My challenge for you is simple: step outside and build one new habit.
Just one.
Small and simple as a daily walk or a short evening stretch.
As large and ambitious as the mastery of a skill.
Join me for 100 Days of Action starting April 1st. Take a moment to dream up what you hope to achieve by summer, and start by building one habit that will get you there!
Every big journey starts with a single, intentional step forward.
